The Rockets and Eric Gordon have come to a four-year, $53 million agreement.
That’s going to be a tough contract as Gordon played well last year in a walk-year, but even if we discount a freaky broken finger injury that ended this past season everything before that has been a skull and crossbones. He’s a major injury risk and he needs the ball in his hands to be anything but a neutral asset on the floor. James Harden’s presence necessarily negates that.
Add it all up and that’s why we had him ranked No. 17 at the shooting guard position with a three-year, $36 million projection. At $13 million per season, he did better on cash and years over what we thought were already inflated numbers. The Rockets are struggling in free agency to put it nicely.
