ESPN’s Marc Stein is reporting that the Pistons and Wizards are bracing for big offer sheets from the Nets on restricted free agents Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Otto Porter, respectively.
The Nets have a ton of cap space and acquiring either player would help cement a young core alongside D’Angelo Russell. There aren’t a ton of long-term plays on the Brooklyn roster outside of him at the moment so they’ll take a talent infusion anywhere they can get it. The Wizards have been reportedly dangling Porter in Paul George trade discussions and the Nets could swoop in and pry him away with max money if Washington isn’t careful in RFA negotiations. The Pistons have named KCP as their big priority this offseason, so that may be a tougher get for Brooklyn, but expect them to try their best anyway.
