Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry combined to shoot only 10-of-23 for a combined 29 points in Wednesday’s loss to the Cavaliers.
They are averaging over a combined 50 points in these playoffs so their lack of scoring was felt by the Warriors organization tonight. It’s been a rough series so far for the All Star guards and they looked unfocused at times tonight. Klay Thompson left in the first quarter with a quad contusion but was able to return and finish the game. He should be fine for Game 4 but we’ll monitor his progress with injury updates. He shot only 1-of-7 from deep and didn’t add much else to his stat-line even going 1-for-3 from the charity stripe. Not what his owners were expecting tonight.
Stephen Curry wasn’t much better with only 19 points after picking up two fouls in the first quarter. He scored only two points in the first half and didn’t appear to get in rhythm for the rest of the game. He turned the ball six times tonight and will look to bounce back in Game 4 in front of the hostile Cleveland crowd. So far the home court advantage has proven to be huge in the NBA finals.
