Tristan Thompson scored 15 points on 6-of-6 shooting with 16 rebounds and three assists as the Cavs held serve in Thursday’s Game 6 win over the Warriors.
Thompson isn’t getting enough attention from the Warriors’ defense as he continues to duck and dive his way to smart spots on offense and fortuitous position on the glass. 14 of his boards were defensive tonight so he wasn’t all over the offensive glass, but he set solid screens and played the short roll very well — and most importantly he teamed up with LeBron on some back breaking alley-0op passes knowing the Warriors’ small lineup couldn’t contend with his vertical. He’s beating up Draymond Green in the Warriors’ small ball game and the Warriors should look at re-establishing their ability to beat him up on the perimeter. Otherwise he’s going to continue to eat.
