• With the NBA playoffs, summer league and now Olympics games all in our rearview mirror, the quiet days of NBA news are upon us. Please, try and contain your excitement. Not to fret though as now is the perfect time to grab yourself  a copy of the hoop-ball.com draft guide. Monday Whispers

The biggest news from a quiet Monday in the association came from the city of angels where August 24th will be now proclaimed as Kobe Bryant Day. Yes that’s right, the City of Los Angeles has decided to honour one of its legends with his own day. Congrats Kobe, wonder what Shaq will have to say about this?

Sticking with the Lakers, rookie Brandon Ingram will officially sign his rookie contract on Tuesday. There was never an inch of doubt that this would come to fruition and with negotiations behind him, Ingram can now concentrate on the upcoming season. All signs point to Ingram backing up Luol Deng when the season starts. His fantasy outlook will be limited during his first season as most rookies encounter growing pains as they try to adapt to the NBA game.

The Milwaukee Bucks officially signed the JET on Monday afternoon. Jason Terry will bring some much-needed veteran leadership to the Bucks’ bench. He’s definitely not a lock to make the rotation, but with his knack for hitting the three he could play very limited minutes off the bench.

Lastly, blast from the past first round flop Kwame Brown has apparently signed with a new agency with the hopes of playing again in the NBA. File this under irrelevant as Brown has not played in the league since the 2013 season. He would be extremely fortunate to land a training camp invite.
