The Wizards and Bradley Beal reached agreement on a five-year, $128 million max contract.
This has the potential to be the most brutal contract in this free agency season. Beal’s injury history is well known and he was really struggling down the stretch last season. There’s no questioning his talent and potential from his healthy days but it feels like the Wizards have decided they have no other recourse and they’re just going to do it, even with Beal drawing practically no interest from other teams. Once they come to an agreement they’ll try to sign other free agents so they can go over the cap with Beal’s deal.
Update: It’s official now.
Wizards, moving on from Durant, will try and hammer out framework of new deal for Bradley Beal tonight. Max would run five years, $133M.

And then the Wiz can go out and try to make a deal with an Al Horford or a Ryan Anderson or a Nic Batum before making Beal's deal official.
