Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported late on Thursday night that the Knicks have identified unrestricted free agent Eric Gordon as their top perimeter target.
Our condolences to Knicks fans as their free agency keeps getting more ridiculous. While we weren’t on board with the fourth year of Joakim Noah’s deal and we don’t even think it’s a good deal at all, we at least thought the two sides needed each other more than anybody else needed them. But knowing that they’re trying to accumulate the most injury prone team the league has ever assembled — and they’re doing it on purpose — we’re just feeling a bit bad for them in New York.
Terms haven’t been written about but they’re surely going to be a gross overpay and we knew that was coming with Gordon no matter who picked him up. We ranked him as the No. 17 shooting guard target in our free agency rankings.
