Al Jefferson has been suspended by the NBA for five games for violating the league’s anti-drug program.
This was probably some sort of recreational drug use and it’s a bummer for owners, as well as the Hornets who now lose five games of their big man’s services. This gives Cody Zeller and Frank Kaminsky a bigger window to make advances in standing within the rotation. The league will determine when Jefferson is healthy enough after his calf injury to begin the suspension, so we’re guessing Big Al pushes to get “healthy” as soon as possible.
