Alec Burks (broken fibula) could return after the Jazz’s week-long road trip writes Jody Genessy of the Deseret News, but that’s not a given and coach Quin Snyder talked about the ways he could be limited for a while.
“We may not get the Alec that we had in December. We certainly won’t Game 1,” Snyder said. “And how quickly that happens and comes? How does (he) fit with how our group’s evolved? There’s a process about reintegrating guys.” This speaks to how the pecking order has changed since Burks has left, and that he won’t have nearly the freedom he tried to establish early in the year (while Gordon Hayward let him do that). Every game matters now for the Jazz, and while Burks is a much-needed part of their attack he’s going to take a back seat for the foreseeable future. He wasn’t cracking late-round value when he had run of the yard, so owners can probably watch this action from the wire until he proves himself.
