Alec Burks (right ankle sprain) ruled out for Monday

Alec Burks (right ankle sprain) has been ruled out of Monday's game against the Pelicans.

Burks has been out since early October but was listed as questionable prior to yesterday's game, so a return could be coming soon. He'll give the Warriors some added depth on the wings, where they've had a lot of issues so far. Alen Smailagic (right ankle sprain) remains out as well but has a far smaller chance of impacting the deep-league landscape.

LeBron James

LeBron James (sore right groin), Anthony Davis, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Danny Green (left volar plate injury) and Dwight Howard have been named as the Lakers starters for Wednesday's Game 1.

James and Green were probable heading into this announcement and there's little surprise that these two vets would be able to take the floor. It's a full-force starting five for L.A. as they hope to secure the initiative in this seven-game series.

Dwight Howard
C, Los Angeles Lakers

Dwight Howard has been selected to start at center for the Lakers in Wednesday's Game 1 vs. the Heat.

The Lakers opt to go big, pairing Howard with Anthony Davis. The duo will be a headache for the Heat to deal with in the paint, but it's a good thing Miami has players who are able to guard multiple positions.

Dwight Howard

Frank Vogel has yet to name the Lakers' starting center for Wednesday's Game 1 of the NBA Finals vs. the Heat.

The Lakers have had three different starting lineups thus far that all include LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Danny Green and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Dwight Howard got the last two starts against the Nuggets while Markieff Morris was inserted for the final two games vs. the Rockets and JaVale McGee logged the other 11. Seeing as though McGee has started in every Game 1 so far, it puts him as the frontrunner to get the nod on Wednesday. However, it wouldn't come as too much of a surprise if they put Howard out there instead.

Kris Dunn

New Bulls GM Marc Eversley told the media that Kris Dunn didn't participate in the Bulls' minicamp because he is still "not healthy" as he continues to recover from an MCL injury that he suffered on January 31.

Dunn is a restricted free agent this offseason and definitely improved his stock in 2019-20 by proving that he can play multiple positions on the court and does not need to be pigeon-holed into the point guard position. He should garner some interest around the league and it will be interesting to see how much money the Bulls' new management is willing to invest in the 26-year-old.

James Harden

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Rockets have gotten permission to interview some assistant coaches for their opening at head coach including Denver's Wes Unseld Jr. and Dallas' Stephen Silas.

The Rockets are looking for a new coach after the team parted ways with Mike D'Antoni. There have been other names floated out there including Doc Rivers, who recently parted ways with the Clippers. Stay tuned as the coaching carousel continues.
