The Blazers announced that shooting guard Allen Crabbe will undergo surgery on Thursday to address a stress reaction of the 5th metatarsal bone in his left foot.
It’s unknown how this will affect Crabbe’s offseason program, but the fact that it’s not an outright fracture seems promising. On the other hand, his foot troubles popped up in April, so it’s been bugging him for some time. He’s coming off a season in which he set career-highs in scoring, rebounding, efficiency and three point production. In 79 games, he averaged 10.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.7 triples per contest on .468 / .444 / .847 shooting. Expect the team to announce a timetable sometime after the surgery is completed.
