Anthony Davis’ MRI revealed an ankle sprain and the Pelicans are considering him day-to-day but doubtful for Friday.
This is a big relief for Pelicans fans and Davis owners. There was said to be severe swelling in his ankle after the game, so seeing day-to-day is good news. Davis has been the best player in the league since DeMarcus Cousins went down with an Achilles tear and he had shown no signs of slowing down. Nikola Mirotic should gain the most from Davis being out as he proclaimed himself that his confidence and shot have been on the rise after his mini-slump since joining New Orleans. Emeka Okafor’s role should be stable with Davis out, and even when Davis is back for that matter, and he could push 20 plus minutes per game. Okafor has been able to produce top-140 value in just 16.5 minutes per game so far so if he does get an increase it could go a long way. Cheick Diallo, Darius Miller, Dante Cunningham should also receive minute increases. Jrue Holiday could see a spike in usage rating and will look to continue his fantasy tear as he has been a second round value over the past month.
