• Ben Simmons has swelling in his left (shooting) elbow and will not play in Saturday’s game against the Magic.

The Sixers are saying that the injury doesn’t appear to be serious and we’ll take them at their word despite their inventive approach to injury reporting in the past.  This could open up some minutes for Richaun Holmes to show Brett Brown something, but we can also look to an expansion of minutes for Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, T.J. McConnell and Jerryd Bayless.

Update: Simmons is expected to return to game play when the swelling has subsided and the range of motion in his elbow has returned according to the Philly Inquirer.  That sounds both day-to-day and leaves open the possibility of more than one missed game.
