Brandon Knight is expected to miss the entire 2017-18 season after he underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, an injury he suffered during a charity game.
After being relegated to the bench for much of the season and receiving a ton of DNPs, Knight was finally offered a chance to get into a game in March and refused , citing back spasms. It was then announced he would be shut down for the rest of the seasons, joining Eric Bledsoe and Tyson Chandler. It didn’t make a lot of sense for Knight, who averaged 19.6 points, 5.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds in the 2015-16 season to all of the sudden be a backup to 21-year old Tyler Ulis and 20-year old Devin Booker. The Suns tried very hard to trade Knight and the approximate 3 years, $43.8 million left on his contract but no one would bite. He’ll be on the shelf for a while.
