Lakers free agent signing Brook Lopez (sprained ankle) will not travel with the team on their upcoming two game road trip.
Lopez rolled the ankle in Monday’s game and left the stadium in a walking boot and crutches. X-rays were negative and he will undergo and MRI on Tuesday. The center has dealt with foot injuries before undergoing multiple surgeries in 2011 and 2014. Labeled as injury prone for years, he recently shook the label after playing 72, 73 and 75 games over the last three years and until now had played every game in 2017. In his absence Andrew Bogut and Ivica Zubac should see a small boost, but more than likely the Lakers will play small more often with Larry Nance Jr. or Julius Randle at the five, Brandon Ingram at the four and Kyle Kuzma at the three.
