Johnson goes on to report that the team didn’t intend to have LaVine play rehab games in the G-League but it appears that their stance has changed. This is a positive step for the athletic guard, who is going to get his conditioning up in a competitive environment. While he’s a ways off his lofty personal expectations for a November return, he should be back with the big club and logging heavy minutes by January at the latest. He’s worth picking up if you can afford to stash him for a month, as LaVine won’t have anyone taking minutes away from him on the rebuilding Bulls.
Update: The Bulls won’t use LaVine in the G-League after all, as he has since been recalled.
