LaVine is still recovering from his left ACL tear, and with the injury coming in February it’s unlikely that he’s back until December at the earliest. Still, Hoiberg is more in the know than we are and perhaps LaVine has made some significant strides in his rehab. It doesn’t seem wise for the rebuilding Bulls to push their young guard too hard, however, so this seems like heavy optimism. For what it’s worth, both LaVine and his agent have said he’s ahead of schedule and could be ready for training camp. If that’s the case, he’ll be an interesting pick in the later middle rounds. Otherwise he’s just a stash for those who play with IR slots.
