Rick Carlisle said on Monday that Deron Williams has a left groin and abdominal strain and has no timetable for return.
“We’re going to try to get him better and go from there,” Carlisle said. “The hope is it’s not serious.” Williams is already questionable for Wednesday’s game and really he’s out indefinitely in our minds. With the Mavs needing wins badly this has to be pretty bad for him to not suit up, and because of his extensive injury history there are all sorts of red flags. Raymond Felton and J.J. Barea are strong starts during this four-game week and even Devin Harris is worth a look.
