Chandler Parsons (hamstring) is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Blazers according to Rick Carlisle.
Parsons said he tweaked his hamstring late in the first half of Friday’s game and that it stiffened up at halftime. On Saturday, he was limping noticeably as he headed upstairs from the Mavs’ basement practice court, and he was not made available to reporters according to the Dallas Morning News.
The beneficiary situation is similar to what we’ve seen in the past where the Mavs’ stable of backup guards gets a crack at bigger minutes. Raymond Felton, J.J. Barea and Devin Harris all have the ability to cross the standard league threshold and we like them in that order for whatever amount of time that Parsons is out. The Mavs don’t play until Wednesday during their three-game week, so owners may want to consider that in their add/drop analysis.
