• The Rockets have ruled Chris Paul out for Friday thanks to a strained adductor.

Adductor injuries have gotten some big names this year with Anthony Davis, Devin Booker and now Paul going down. CP3’s injury looked the most innocuous of the bunch, so there’s some silver lining. Davis didn’t miss much time while Booker is in the midst of his 2-3 week timetable so it hopefully won’t be as damaging as his early-season knee injury. We’d look for contingency plans over the next week or so but the current “day-to-day” claims are certainly positive, all things considered. Eric Gordon should join the starting lineup, as he did when Paul was out the first time. He delivered middle-round value on gaudy scoring and 3-point numbers, so look for more of the same there.
