Nets GM Sean Marks told Bryan Fonseca of Nets Daily that D’Angelo Russell is progressing well and that he hopes to see the young guard back sooner rather than later.
That’s all well and good, but there’s still no timetable for Russell’s return. The Nets haven’t exactly been forthcoming about updates on his condition, but they are expecting him to return this season. He belongs on waiver wires at the moment, and D’Lo isn’t worth a pickup until we get a clearer picture of when he might be back. The backcourt looks very different (and perhaps more functional) than it did when he left it, so he’s not a lock to jump right back into the deep end, either.
