D’Angelo Russell (knee) is traveling with the Nets but he still has no timetable to return to action.
Russell is expected to return this season and it’s a good sign that he’s staying engaged, which isn’t too surprising since the Nets look way better with Spencer Dinwiddie running the squad and he’s going to need every bit of engagement to keep from being pushed into a 25-minute role. The Nets are not going to turn the team back over to Russell and they’ll move him off the ball and probably off the bench, and Dinwiddie owners should not fear the return of Russell much, if at all.
As for Russell, he can probably hit mid-round value whenever he returns but it’s not a guarantee and in Roto formats the juice is only worth the squeeze if you truly have space. In playoff formats owners can let this play out a bit but again, he has his work cut out for him. The Nets aren’t going to let him jack up bad shots knowing they already have their point guard of the next few years.
