• D’Angelo Russell strained his right calf in Friday’s game and did not return.

We’re getting reports as this just happened a second ago. Stay tuned.  Jose Calderon took his place in the lineup.

Update: Russell has a mild MCL sprain in his right knee and he hasn’t been ruled out for a return, so that’s good news we suppose.

Update II: Russell has an MRI scheduled for Saturday and owners should wait and see what that turns up before doing anything crazy like dropping him.  If you want to bump up his teammates such as Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams feel free to do so but again, don’t go crazy.

Update III: Russell said that he landed in an “awkward position” and that he “fell and caused a little pain” but that he was “alright.”  This is about as good of an update as one could hope for, but even a minor setback is going to hurt patient owners — not to mention your confidence on a buy low deal.  There is still time for a big, successful turnaround but it has to happen pretty fast to make it worth it for owners in non-playoff formats.
