D’Angelo Russell got helped to the locker room after injuring his right ankle in Friday’s game against the Nuggets, and after evaluation the injury was called a moderate ankle sprain as he did not return.
X-rays taken were negative. Russell does not have a history of ankle injuries and he had a similar situation happen in Hawaii during Summer League and he bounced back relatively quick. The Lakers aren’t going to take any chances here but it’s possible at his age that he bounces right back. We’re calling him day-to-day for now.
