Delon Wright continues to ramp up his on-court activity per TSN’s Josh Lewenberg and is nearing the end of his original one-month timetable.
Wright dodged a severe bullet with that timetable, as he dislocated the same shoulder on which he had surgery earlier in his short career. While one month isn’t exactly a short-term deal, it’s far better than the serious injury it looked to be. Luckily for the Raptors, Fred VanVleet has been steady as the backup point guard and they have no need to rush Wright back to action. The two will probably form a timeshare with game flow determining who gets more run, and that’ll happen after Wright is eased back into things. His defensive prowess makes him a deep league asset but it’ll be a slow climb back even if he returns within a week or two.
