DeMar Derozan is still dealing with soreness in his right thumb.
Too bad DeRozan didn’t injure his thumb earlier in the playoffs because then atleast he’d have an excuse for shooting an abysmal 34.6%. He injured his right thumb during Game 5 against the Heat and had to leave the court momentarily. He eventually returned to the court with a shoelace wrapped around his thumb. DeMar is a free agent this year and will get offered max-contract regardless of his poor showing in the playoffs. Still, some GM’s might question his lack of postseason adjustments or finding other ways to help his team win (only 4.3rpg, 2.5apg).
Shoelace on DeRozan's thumb pushes fluid down, allowing finger movement w/ swelling vanishing temporarily. "It hurts like hell," DeMar says.
