DeMarcus Cousins scored 29 points on 11-of-18 shooting (1-of-1 3PTs, 6-of-9 FTs) with 10 rebounds, four assists, five steals, four blocks in Wednesday’s win over the Wizards, but got his 16th technical foul after he and Rajon Rondo clapped sarcastically at referee Marc Davis with six seconds left in nine-point win.
Davis had just called a sideline violation on Rondo and they both did the sarcastic clap, so Cousins could be suspended for Friday’s game against the Heat, which is a home game that he probably would have played. It could serve as a rest game because after that there was a decent chance he wouldn’t have played in Denver on Saturday in the back-to-back, so this might end up being a wash. It just is a bad look when he threatened to have a 5×5 line and the Kings got 30 wins for the first time in a long time.
