Rick Carlisle revealed after Friday’s game that point guard Dennis Smith would be held out of Saturday’s game against the Rockets, and the team is hopeful that he can play Monday against the Warriors.
Smith missed tonight’s game with some left knee swelling that popped up out of nowhere and the Mavs will play it safe with their prized rookie. Smith did deal with a left ACL tear back in high school but this shouldn’t be cause for major alarm just yet. JJ Barea and Yogi Ferrell will run the backcourt in the interim.
