Heat guard Dion Waiters is out without a timeable to return according to head coach Erik Spoelstra.
Waiters sprained his ankle in Friday’s game and was carried off the floor by his teammates. Interestingly, it was the same ankle he sprained last time the Heat took on the Wolves earlier in the year. “It’s a sprained ankle,” said coach Spoelstra, “same left ankle that he sprained in Minnesota. So I don’t know what his problem is with Minnesota, but he sprained it similar to the way he did last time. There’s no timeline on it. There’s no way to really tell until we get to the next day.” We can assume Waiters will miss a few games and that Josh Richardson and Wayne Ellington will likely receive the biggest bump in minutes as the Heat look to secure a playoff berth.
