Dion Waiters said that his ankle is unlikely to be fully healed until the offseason, and it’s looking like a very minuscule chance that he’ll return before the playoffs.
Waiters tried to play tonight but coach Spoelstra wouldn’t let that happen, and rightfully so. He still feels pain while walking and has only just resumed basketball activity, so it’ll be a major shock to see him hit the floor again any time soon even if Miami qualifies for the postseason. Waiters will still try to get back in the playoffs, but we’ll see how he reacts to further rehab. He’ll be an important part of the Heat next season, as there’s no doubt he put some impressive performances together playing on a very affordable deal.
