Dwyane Wade scored 20 points on 6-of-14 shooting (1-of-2 3PTs, 7-of-10 FTs) with seven rebounds, four assists and one block in Wednesday’s Game 5 loss to the Raptors.
The Heat don’t have anybody to check Bismack Biyombo and they’re starting to see the Raptors backcourt figure things out so they have to be pretty darn good across the rotation to win right now. Unfortunately, that wasn’t happening as only Goran Dragic (13 points, five boards, two assists, 6-of-14 FGs) showed up to play and even he was bottled up. Joe Johnson (11 points, 5-of-13 FGs, eight boards) hasn’t been able to generate much offense and now the Heat have to figure out what to do in the wake of Luol Deng’s wrist injury.
Deng will get an MRI back in Miami in advance of Friday’s Game 6. If he cannot go look for the Heat to reach deep into the bag of tricks and that might mean they turn into a running team — or at least they should consider it — and everybody across the rotation gets a bump up in projections.
