• Dwyane Wade (left knee swelling) will not play on Monday against the Hornets.

That means Michael Carter-Williams has a nice chance to be productive in the first game of a three-game week.  Yes, Jimmy Butler will handle the ball more but MCW will now have breathing room.  We’re calling MCW a must-own player in 8-cat leagues and worth keeping a close eye on in 9-cat formats.

The Bulls have a five-game week next week so all of their assets will get a bit of extra consideration, anyway.  If you want to use that to pick up MCW in 9-cat formats be our guest, but we’re not too optimistic that he can bring back more than top-100 value.  Wade’s owners will want to sit him during a two-game week (max).  Doug McDermott gets the start but has no real standard league value.

Update: Friedell added some opinion that seems self-explanatory but is not what Wade owners want to hear, and it could have impacts on the rotation going forward as well.  He says that Wade might not play in both games of back-to-backs anymore.  If that happens then MCW gets the biggest boost and it might also help fringe assets like Nikola Mirotic get on track.  Maybe they use those games as excuses to play Rajon Rondo, but he could retire and we wouldn’t be shocked at this point.
