Evan Fournier is still sidelined with a sprained ankle but remains upbeat, telling Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel that “It shouldn’t be too long, honestly.”
Fournier added, “I don’t know what it’s going to be like. It’s going to be day-to-day, obviously. I’m pretty positive.” While he may think that he’s day-to-day, the fact that he’s in a walking boot doesn’t help his case. The Magic have been starting Arron Afflalo in his place, but it’s an uninspiring choice that doesn’t do anything for fantasy owners. They also kicked around the idea of starting rookie Wesley Iwundu and backup point guard D.J. Augustin, who make for much more interesting options. Augustin should be owned in deep leagues for his guaranteed boost in minutes while Iwundu belongs on watch lists for the time being. There’s still no official word on how long Fournier will be out, but Orlando will need all hands on deck with their wing depth in tatters.
