In an interview with the San Antonio Express-News, Sabrina Strickland, an orthopedic sports surgeon who has been in practice for more than 20 years said that Kawhi Leonard will return soon, provided his condition isn’t chronic.
Strickland has not examined Leonard or been part of his treatment and a Spurs’ spokesman said Tuesday that there still is “no timeline at this point” for Kawhi’s return. While the surgeon admitted that incidents of athletic careers ending from Leonard’s injury are “super rare,” she noted that his condition could be chronic given how long he has been out. There have been no sightings of Leonard at the practice facility while Popovich has said that his All-Star would have to achieve several benchmarks before he is ready to return. Owners should simply hang in there until we get a concrete report oh Kawhi’s progress but a December return looks more likely now.
