Hassan Whiteside was practically invisible in the Heat’s win over the Nets, scoring just seven points in 21 minutes on Wednesday.
Frankly, he made more of an impact as a cheerleader for Dion Waiters than he did as the Heat’s starting center. He went 3-of-10 from the floor and added one board, one assist and one block to his line. Given what should have been a tasty matchup against the lowly Nets, this has to be considered one of the season’s most irritating DFS flops. He’ll look to bounce back against the Bulls on Friday.
Update: Whiteside was apparently dealing with an ankle injury and it sure looked like it. We’ll call him day-to-day going forward and the All Star break can’t come soon enough for both he and his owners.
Whiteside said he has a bad ankle & should not have played. Was asked to go back in in 4th Q told Spo it hurt too much.
