After missing the second half of last night’s blowout, Isaiah Thomas is undergoing further testing on his strained hip and may be forced to miss Game 3 on Sunday.
Thomas’ hip injury was sustained in Game 6 against the Wizards but he managed to gut it out through Game 7 and the series opener against Cleveland. When he came up hobbled in the midst of an embarrassing blowout, the Celtics rightfully saw no need to push him further. With the injury described as significant and Boston having a zero percent chance of hanging with the Cavs it wouldn’t be surprising to see him shut down. Marcus Smart would presumably start while Terry Rozier would also get extra playing time.
