The Celtics announced that Isaiah Thomas will miss the remainder of the postseason after he re-aggravated a right femoral-acetabular impingement with labral tear during Friday’s Game 2 loss.
Thomas missed the second half and word after the game was that the injury was significant, which obviously turned out to be the case. The injury was originally sustained all the way back in March and IT played through it before worsening the damage in Game 6 against the Wizards. With the re-aggravation coming against an opponent that Boston has no chance of beating, there’s no need to push Thomas further. Expect Marcus Smart to start and Terry Rozier to pick up extra playing time off the bench. Gerald Green should also get more minutes as the Celtics scramble for scoring.
