Jimmy Butler is improving rapidly but he still hasn't been cleared for full contact practice.
Butler and Jamal Crawford stayed on the court long after practice yesterday shooting 3-pointers. It's encouraging to hear that Butler is feeling good and is doing two rehab sessions daily but he is not a lock to return before the end of the regular season and he should be on a minutes restriction if that happens. “Even once he’s cleared by the doctors for contact, there is another step after that,’’ coach Thibodeau said. “As I told him, this is about the big picture. When you’re ready to go, then we go.’’ Owners in leagues that play until the very end of the year could stash him as long as they can afford an IR spot but other than that he is a drop candidate if that hasn't happened already.
