Jimmy Butler underwent successful meniscus surgery on his right knee on Sunday and the Wolves are listing him as “out indefinitely”.
Butler received a meniscectomy, which is a complete removal of the meniscus. He hasn’t been ruled out for the remainder of the season and the hope is that he’ll be back in time for the Wolves’ playoff run. Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reported that Butler will miss 4-6 weeks and that timetable would maybe bring him back for your fantasy championship should you make it. He’ll likely be limited and rusty if he does return in time for the fantasy championship so don’t rely on him too much. Andrew Wiggins will need to step up for both the Timberwolves and his fantasy owners with Butler out and Nemanja Bjelica got the start yesterday so he’s worth a look in deeper leagues.
