• Joel Embiid is questionable for tonight’s game with right ankle soreness.

Embiid is apparently dealing with a sore right ankle that has lingered over the past week and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the team hold him out tonight. The big man has recently started to play in back-to-back sets as the Sixers are trying to make it to the playoffs. Amir Johnson should get the start if Embiid can’t give it a go while we could also see Richaun Holmes get some minutes against a Heat frontcourt that features Hassan Whiteside and Bam Adebayo.

Update: Joel Embiid will be a game-time decision on Wednesday.

Update: Joel Embiid will not play against the Heat.

Update: Amir Johnson will start in Embiid’s absence.

Fantasy News

  • Rajon Rondo
    PG, Los Angeles Lakers

Rajon Rondo will start at point guard for the Lakers on Thursday.

Rondo will start in place of an injured LeBron James (groin). It looks like the Lakers are going to go with the veteran to keep everything steady and he could be a useful daily play until LeBron returns.

  • Anthony Davis
    PF-C, Los Angeles Lakers

Anthony Davis (sore left elbow) will play on Thursday night against the Warriors.

This was as expected, so roll out Davis as usual, who should have an exceptional outing as the lead dog for the Lakers with LeBron James out.

  • Bruce Brown
    SG, Detroit Pistons

Bruce Brown Jr. is questionable for Friday's game against the Suns with left knee soreness.

The knee held Brown out in Tuesday's game as well so we'll see if he can step back in and produce his underrated lines again. Rookie teammate Sekou Doumbouya is probable with a right calf strain.. Brown has held late-round value this year but we're waiting for Doumbouya to do something with his minutes. He isn't viable in fantasy leagues right now.

  • Kyle Korver
    SF, Milwaukee Bucks

Kyle Korver will miss Friday's game against the Thunder with a sore back.

The veteran hasn't played since February 10th and can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

  • Alfonzo McKinnie
    SF, Cleveland Cavaliers

Alfonzo McKinnie (foot) will not play on Friday against the Pelicans.

McKinnie isn't on many fantasy radars, so he should remain on waiver wires unless something changes in the Cavs rotation.

  • Andre Drummond
    C, Cleveland Cavaliers

Andre Drummond will remain out on Friday as he continues to deal with a left calf strain.

Drummond has lost a significant chunk of playing time in Cleveland and now will miss his second consecutive contest. We should see more from Tristan Thompson and Larry Nance on Friday.

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo
    PF, Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo (back soreness) is probable for Friday's game against the Thunder.

Is GA's back sore from leading the Bucks in another Herculean MVP effort this season? Probably. It wouldn't be surprising to see Antetokounmpo on the injury report and sitting out some games down the stretch as the Bucks have already locked up a spot in the postseason.

  • Dennis Smith Jr.
    PG, New York Knicks

Dennis Smith Jr. (concussion-like symptoms) will miss the remainder of Thursday's game.

Smith's night will end with four points and a rebound in seven minutes off the bench. He's been gaining a little traction of late but this takes the wind from his sails. Elfrid Payton will have plenty of work ahead of him with Frank Ntilikina also on the shelf right now.

  • Cory Joseph
    PG, Sacramento Kings

Cory Joseph will replace the injured De'Aaron Fox (abdominal tightness) in the starting lineup on Thursday vs. the Thunder.

Joseph has low-end streaming appeal for those who need assists and good efficiency. It is worth noting that his upside is extremely limited.

  • Taj Gibson
    PF, New York Knicks

Taj Gibson is questionable to face the Sixers on Thursday as he deals with back spasms.

Bobby Portis will replace Gibson in the starting lineup regardless of Gibson's availability. Taj has no value outside of the deepest of leagues.
