Blazers big man Jusuf Nurkic (ankle sprain) will sit out Wednesday’s contest against the Heat.
Nurkic will miss his third straight game with the ailment and Meyers Leonard (illness) is questionable as well so we could see first round pick Zach Collins get the nod on Wednesday. In the last two games Collins has averaged 7.0 points, 4.5 boards, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks on 42.9 percent from the field. It’s hard to recommend any sort of pickup here of Collins outside of deep leagues due to the Nurkic likely back in the lineup soon and the depth at power forward on the Blazers. The best Collins could hope for this year is to overtake Leonard as the backup center and with Nurkic no sure bet to stay healthy, see significant run for stretches.
