The Spurs will be without Kawhi Leonard once again, as his ankle injury will keep him out of Saturday’s Game 3 and allow Jonathon Simmons to enter the starting lineup.
It’s brutal for the Spurs, who will be heavy underdogs and could soon be facing a 3-0 series deficit against the juggernaut Warriors. If there’s any silver lining to this at all, it’s that Simmons was easily San Antonio’s best player in Game 2 and was the least of the problems in a blowout loss. Leonard’s status remains up in the air for Game 4. Simmons and Kyle Anderson will see the biggest minutes bump while LaMarcus Aldridge should get a ton of touches on offense. He’ll need a big night on both ends of the floor for the Spurs to stay close tonight.
