Kelly Oubre went for an MRI on his knee last week and apparently told the doctors not to tell him the results until after the playoffs, and while those results remain unknown Ava Wallace of the Washington Post reports he may need some procedures this offseason.
That goes a long way to explaining Oubre’s absence from last night’s Game 7. Washington’s bench gave them absolutely nothing on offense and got torched on defense. The issue presumably popped up after Game 5 (in which he played 20 minutes), seeing as he played just seven minutes in Game 6 and six seconds in Game 7. Oubre carved out a decent role this year and should be a part of the rotation next season but won’t be a fantasy factor in standard leagues so long as Otto Porter remains in Washington.
