Kevin Love left Sunday’s game against the Thunder during the second quarter due to back spasms and did not return.
Love’s back injury is starting to become a recurring thing and the Cavs aren’t going to jeopardize his status for the playoffs one bit. We’re calling it day-to-day for now and Channing Frye will get more minutes to hoist up threes, and Richard Jefferson will also see some extra minutes if Love misses time. Neither are anything but short-term pickups.
Update: Love will not travel with the team and is already ruled out for Monday’s game against the Mavs. Owners can extend the valuations out for that game and call it day-to-day from there. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving will both play in that game.
Ty Lue says Kevin Love is going to stay back in Cleveland to get imaging on his back Monday. Will not play in Dallas.
