Kristaps Porzingis (hip) was a limited participant in practice on Thursday, only participating in non-contact portions.
Kristaps should be ready for the Knicks season opener on Oct.19 against the Thunder, but there’s not point in him suiting up for the last game of the preseason. The hip doesn’t seem to be a big deal, but it serves the Knicks well to be cautious with their franchise cornerstone. Porzingis said his goal is to make the All-Star team this year, and with the amount of stars that moved West this offseason along with the new format, it’s certainly possible. Kristaps is a fine early round pick that carries first round upside with a pretty safe floor.
