Kyrie Irving (knee) has been ruled out of Wednesday’s showdown with the Wizards and will be joined on the sidelines by Jaylen Brown (concussion) and Marcus Smart (thumb).
That’s in addition to Daniel Theis and Gordon Hayward, who will be out for the rest of the season. Irving’s knee injury is being hopefully chalked up as a case of tendonitis but it seems as though the Celtics will be giving him some time to rest up with their playoff spot wrapped up and their seeding looking more secure by the day. With Marcus Smart out indefinitely and Jaylen Brown out through the week with his concussion, Terry Rozier is going to get a ton of run in the backcourt since Shane Larkin is still on a minutes limit. Boston could also turn to Greg Monroe as a secondary distributor from the frontcourt from time to time. Rozier should be owned in all leagues while Monroe is a decent 12-14 team add.
