The Celtics announced that Kyrie Irving will undergo a minimally invasive procedure to alleviate irritation in his left knee.
The surgery is set for Saturday, and while there’s no timetable for his return it looks like most owners can strongly consider cutting Kyrie loose. Hopefully the Celtics will come in with some clarity on that front before owners have to make a decision but it doesn’t seem like he’ll be back for much more than rust-shaking minutes before the playoffs. To be clear, if you can wait until that update comes, likely sometime on Saturday or Sunday, you should do so. Terry Rozier remains a must-start option while Shane Larkin’s deep league stock gets a boost.
