• Lonzo Ball was a limited participant in Monday’s practice and did non-contact drills, per Dan Woike of the L.A. Times.

Ball has missed 13 straight games with a sprained MCL but appears to be inching towards a return. Even partial participation is a nice step forward, though the Lakers might not let him play on Wednesday and could just opt to sit him through the All-Star break. Ball is projected to start at point guard even with Isaiah Thomas in town while Josh Hart is drawing starts in the interim. Look for the Lakers to use more two-PG groups the rest of the season. Thomas’ arrival shouldn’t hurt Ball much anyway, as the rookie has been an impactful fantasy player even with his ugly shooting and scoring issues.
