Marcus Smart (left ankle contusion) left Friday’s game against the Warriors just before the fourth quarter with the game no longer in question.
Smart was checked by trainers on the bench before heading in and if he misses time then Terry Rozier will have some appeal as a short-term, low-end asset. But beyond that the Celtics would ride their main players, give Jonas Jerebko some extra minutes and look to Jae Crowder and Al Horford to get back.
Celtics say Marcus Smart suffered a left ankle contusion; will not return.

Update: This isn’t a long-term injury according to reporters interpreting Brad Stevens’ comments after the game. Everybody can stand down on rotational changes.
Stevens said Smart bruised his ankle. He will be reevaluated tomorrow. Expected to travel on the road trip. Not a long term injury.
