Mario Chalmers suffered a torn Achilles’ tendon and he is out for the rest of the season.
Chalmers was waived to create a roster spot for his replacement and they’re currently sitting on Lance Stephenson and newly acquired Briante Weber as primary ball handlers, outside of injured Mike Conley of course. Lance Stephenson has been putting up late-round value in 23.3 mpg and one has to think he can solidify that if not improve it. Weber is coming off a major knee injury and has some defensive chops, but everything else will be a question mark. Conley doesn’t seem all that healthy. The Grizzlies will be relying on their forwards for offensive sanity.
